About

This project revolved around sustainability and action. My team wanted to challenge the escapism mindset after being physically unable to travel due to restrictions and limitations; we took this as a motivation to explore how we can reshape the mindset. With our findings, we were able to carry out successful co-creation workshops and two pathways of prototyping. With the help of a design enterprise model from London Business School, we added value by having a strong business model should this project go forward!

Challenges

  1. Making an impact when working with sustainability related projects is difficult to measure
  2. Working with data and information that is future oriented
  3. Managing live prototyping across time zones

Outcome

  1. Redefined a new definition for the future of holidays
  2. Worked with London business school to create a viable business plan for execution
  3. Explored different methods of storytelling for final delivery to client and university

Process

  1. FUN. this was a key priority from the start to ensure room for laughter and self improvement
  2. My team took a page from Frederic Laloux’s TEAL management; self motivation, Laissez-faire leadership and trust in our team
  3. Prototypes two times in different styles, created a service swimlane, redefined our business model and multiple revenue streams

Reflection This project showed my strengths and helped me identify and improve my weaknesses. Working in a team went well and my team produced a well balanced project. The design thinking tools helped us move forward in 4 controlled sprints to produce a great service proposition.
